2026 College Scholarships Guidelines

The Meridian Trust North Star Foundation is Awarding Four Scholarships for the 2026-27 school year! The submission deadline is Sunday, April 5th at 11:59 p.m.

We'll be awarding a total of four scholarships including: the Kim Withers Future Leaders Scholarship for $3,500, one for $2,000, and two more scholarships for $1,000 each.

Winners will be notified by Friday, April 17th and announced at the Annual Meeting on Thursday, May 14th, 2026.

How do I Apply?

Create a short video (4-6 minutes in length) answer the following question:

What is your biggest dream and how would this scholarship help you achieve it?

In addition to your video, complete the easy online form found below (and attach your completed Parent/Guardian Consent form, if applicable). Click on submit and that’s it!

Winners will be notified by Friday, April 17th.

Who is Eligible to Apply?

Applicant must personally be a member of Meridian Trust Federal Credit Union.
Applicant must attend a university, college, or trade school in the fall of 2026.
Important Note: You do not have to be a first-year student to apply. Anyone attending college, university or trade school at any level, including graduate level, is eligible to enter.

Who is Not Eligible to Apply?

Meridian Trust Federal Credit Union employees and their families
Non-members
Meridian Trust Board and Supervisory committee members and their families
Meridian Trust North Star Foundation Board members and volunteers

Scholarships:

We will be awarding two separate $1,000 Scholarships, one Kim Withers Future Leaders Scholarship for $3,500, and one $2,000 Scholarship.

The scholarship money can be put toward tuition and/or expenses at your university or college. Each scholarship will be awarded as a check made payable to the applicable institution. No transfer, postponement, or substitution of award is permitted by recipient.

Acceptance of a scholarship constitutes permission to use recipients' names, likeness, and entries for promotional and advertising purposes without further compensation.

Judging:

Entries will be scored on the basis of originality and content. No AI-generated answers allowed. Decisions of judges are final.

If you are under the age of 18, please have a parent or legal guardian sign and submit the Parent/Guardian Consent form, found below. There will be a space to include the filled out form within the application.
